PanoMap® Search Successfully Deployed

CSA’s recently announced PanoMap® Search functionality has been added to the scanning and 3D modeling work performed for its client at a US nuclear power plant. With this new capability, plant personnel can quickly and easily locate specific components using keywords and wildcard searches of the component database. These also can be accessed by selecting components on a P&ID.

Search Main Menu  pmap-search2

Once the desired component has been located from a sorted list (as shown above) or by reviewing a P&ID, the location of the component is displayed in two windows. One window zooms to the component location in the scan. A second window shows the location of the component on a plan view keyplan, to provide a broader location perspective.

These tagged items can include any identifiable plant components, including equipment, valves (as shown above), pipelines, welds, supports, and inspection points.

The PanoMap® search can be implemented using a laser scan database, as well as a 3D model database of the plant.
